My puppy isn't eating, vomiting, and might have parvo. Help at home?

I am so sorry that your puppy passed and also that the other puppy was exposed. I am not sure what the raw egg is supposed to do here honestly. Eggs just have extra carbs and some protein. Parvovirus is a viral infection that is only treated with supportive care, which includes: fluid therapy, pain management, antibiotics and sometimes vitamin injections or anti-viral meds. If you suspect the new puppy has parvovirus with the same symptoms as the other puppy, then its best to take this pup in to get tested. Otherwise, i would continue to monitor this puppy and have his stool checked for just common intestinal parasites. He may just have worms if he is still otherwise eating well, no vomiting and has good energy. I hope that your pup Saiko gets well soon! Best wishes and take care.

The clinical signs you describe are concerning when they occur in a puppy as they can be seen with serious gastrointestinal infections such as Parvovirus. Other possibilities include intestinal worms and dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. The sooner these conditions are treated the better the outcome tends to be. For this reason, I recommend that you have Kagome evaluated by your veterinarian to check for these possibilities and to start therapy based on findings. At the very least they can address dehydration if present and start her on anti-nausea medications. Good luck! Keeping my fingers crossed for your girl!

Other considerations may include pancreatitis, foreign body in gi tract (partial or complete obstruction), parasites, dietary indiscretion causing gastroenteritis, intussuception, and a few others. All of these would require further testing or evaluation to identify. Because your dog is so small it can easily become hypoglycemic if not eating. As a result, I would recommend seeing your vet or an ER vet if you cannot get in by the morning if symptoms havent inproved significantly. You can rub a little corn syrup or maple syrup on the gums to try and stave off low sugar temporarily. If vomiting becomes more frequent overnight, you shouldn't wait until morning.

Poor little puppy! I can give you a home remedy for Honey to see if that helps, as well as some things to look out for in terms of symptoms of parvo. Withhold food for 6 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, she has blood in her feces, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. This could be from parvovirus or intestinal parasites. Since he’s so small and young I recommend a veterinary exam and treatment. He could get dehydrated quickly and that can become life threatening. They will test him for parvovirus and check for intestinal parasite. They will probably give him fluids to prevent dehydration and medication to control the diarrhea. I am sorry Omaze isn’t feeling well. Your description that isnhe weak has me concerned that he may be anemic. If he hasn’t been dewormed yet I would highly recommend a broad spectrum deworming. I am sorry Pilot is not feeling well. Unfortunately the only way to tell if a patient has parvo is by doing a test for it. This test needs to be completed at the vet. I know it can be hard but I would recommend getting Pilot to the vet as soon as possible. Parvo can be fatal and most dogs need aggressive care to help them through the illness. Some vets can develop a treatment plan at home even though keeping them in the hospital is ideal. hope he feels better soon
