What causes a senior dog's swollen belly, testicular lumps, and poor appetite?

Poor Oscar! His scrotum does look quite swollen and sore. Yes, unfortunately this could definitely be caused by testicular cancer, as this is a fairly common problem in older intact male dogs. He could also have an infection of the scrotum or testicles causing this swelling. I would recommend taking him to the vet to have this checked as soon as you are able to. He/she can take a biopsy if needed to help determine exactly what's going on, and may recommend surgical removal if cancer is suspected.

Swollen testicles and a bloated belly can signs of edema or ascites and can indicate many things including heart disease or an infection. I recommend have Aldan visit his veterinarian today. I would have Abby seen by a vet for this bulge which could be a mass. Unfortunately in senior dogs, there is always a chance a mass could be malignant. It could be compressing her intestines and colon leading to small amounts of poop being passed. Any suspicious masses should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the mass to get a sample of it's cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. I would have Abby seen by a vet first thing on Monday to have this mass examined and diagnosed so it can be treated.

It sounds like prostatitis and/or cancer. I'm not exactly sure what your question is. We don't have enough information to be able to guide you to a decision. His warm feeling body could indicate an internal infection or inflammatory disorder, and his panting and swollen stomach could indicate underlying heart disease, an infection, or even cancer has to be considered here. I would highly recommend taking him in to your vet to have some testing done as soon as possible. The vet needs to do some bloodwork analysis and an x-ray to find out the underlying cause for his symptoms, since there are several disease processes that can cause the same symptoms. Infections in the testicles are not generally expected to result in weight loss unless it is some on-going, low grade, chronic issue that causes the appetite to be decreased for a long period of time. An acute infection will cause a pet to not eat for a few days but this is not expected to cause a significant weight loss. I have learned though, that pet's don't always follow the expected course every single time. A cancer in the testicles will cause swelling of the testicle and will cause weight loss as it progresses and metastasizes. If you are noticing swelling in the testicles and/or weight loss, I recommend to have Bear seen by his veterinarian right away. I'm glad that Bailey seems to be feeling okay despite her new abdominal distension. The abdomen can become distended from either a mass or fluid accumulation from right sided congestive heart failure, liver failure, or cancer. Any of these conditions can progress and worsen rapidly, so I recommend taking Bailey to her vet fairly urgently for evaluation to get to the bottom of this issue.
