What does it mean if my dog's testicles are swollen and tummy bloated?

Swollen testicle can be due to torsion, allergic reaction or infection. i would recommend having it checked by your vet ASAP, if the swelling is too large you will need to take him to the emergencies if your vet is not open today.

Poor Storm! It's hard to say for sure what might be causing this without seeing him. From what you describe, I would be concerned that he may have a testicular infection or even testicular cancer. If his belly looks swollen, this is often a sign of fluid in the abdomen, which can be caused by cancer, liver failure, heart disease, or internal bleeding. It does sounds like this is a serious problem, so I would recommend having him seen by a vet right away - he/she can do blood work and x-rays to help determine the problem and see what can be done to help him.

In a dog Buster's age, this swelling could be due to a tumor. It could also be due to an infection. The only way to know what is causing this is to have him seen by a vet. I'd take him into one in the morning.

Hello. Swollen testicles with progrssive swelling in the pelvic limb(s) might be an indication of infection, inflammation or even neoplasia. You really should have this evaluated as soon as possible on the chance that he may need to be on antibiotics or need to be neutered. Hello, sorry to hear about Balou. I would be most concerned with a testicular torsion which would be a very painful disease or potentially and testicular tumor. I would recommend having him evaluated by his veterinarian as soon as possible to ensure he does not have either of the this. If he seems overly painful, then he should be evaluated on emergency bases tonight. If he is otherwise eating and drinking ok, then he may wait to see his veterinarian in the morning. Finally, a testicular infection could be a potential cause. However this is most likely with trauma. Please have him evaluated soon. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Poor Precious! In a senior dog, I would be concerned that his swollen testicles could be due to testicular cancer. It could also be caused by injury or infection in that area. Drinking a lot of water can be a sign of a medical illness such as diabetes, UTI, Cushing's disease, kidney failure, or bladder stones. If his testicles are quite swollen and are causing him a lot of discomfort, I would have him seen by a vet right away. Otherwise, have him seen by a vet first thing in the morning.

I would advise that you go ahead and give a dose of the Benedryl and then get him into the vet as soon as possible- tonight with the ER vet is ideal. This could signal an allergic reaction, or a viral/bacterial infection. But I am most worried about something extremely painful such as a testicular torsion (where the testicle twists on itself, cutting of blood flow and causing swelling). If you can’t get to the vet tonight, ice the testicle for 5-10 minutes every 2-64hours to help with pain and swelling. Place a paper towel or thin cloth between the ice pack and his scrotum.
