What human foods can I safely add to my dog's dry dog food?

Brands I like include Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams. I would feed Gotham one of those. No, I wouldn't add cooked meats to his diet, he doesn't need them. Hello, given that it has garlic in there, it would not be safe to give to your dog. Garlic in certain amounts can cause GI upset in small amounts, but in severe amounts it can also cause anemia. Additionally, your dog's food should be well balanced if it is certified to meet the AAFCO standards. This should be indicated in the label of the bag of dog food. Hope this helps and best of luck.

This means that you will likely get a different answer from each person you ask. My recommendations are to get the best quality dry dog food you can, and feed that. As long as your dog is happy, eating, having normal poops, is a good weight and has a good hair coat, don't worry about other details. Raw meat of any kind is very dangerous and causes severe infections, and bones of any kind (cooked or raw) are very dangerous as well, so I would avoid those. If you would like to feed some meat or vegetables in addition to the dry food you can. Cook the meat as you would for yourself to eat, but without any spices or seasoning (garlic and onions are toxic to dogs), and vegetables like potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, pumpkin, are all good as well (cooked or raw). Hello. I do not think there is anything that gives us more pleasure than cooking something special for our pets. There is absolutely nothing wrong with adding a little chicken, brown rice & sweet potatoes or pumpkin to her kibble, as long as the majority of her diet is the dog food. Dog food companies go through some rigorous testing to make sure a diet is healthy & more importantly, balanced, which is almost impossible to do with a home cooked diet. The best food to feed Bentley is a high quality puppy formulated food such as Royal Canin, Hills Science Diet, or Purina ProPlan. That's all he needs to be healthy. It's not recommend to feed him human food on a daily basis, as that can lead to obesity and further health problems.
