What human foods are safe to mix with my dog's dry food kibble?

Ideally you would feed your dog consistently the same dry dog food. Some dogs have a sensitive stomach and switching up food/offering table food can cause stomach upset (vomiting, diarrhea), or can lead to a picky eater. Also some human foods can be toxic to dogs (raisins, grapes, and garlic and onion are not recommended). I would try to stick to a consistent dry dog food for your dog, which will also provide a more complete and balanced source of nutrition.

Well, technically, a dog can eat a whole bunch of things on the same day! But the better question is SHOULD they eat all of those things. I prefer my patients to be an a commercial dog food for 90% of their caloric intake. This ensures that they are taking in a balanced diet. When you start to add chicken or vegetables to their diet and feed less of the dog food, they may not be taking in the correct amount of vitamins and minerals that their bodies need. It is also very easy to feed too many calories if you add these foods to their normal dog food. You should not give him any human food. The best food to give him is a complete dog food for large size dogs, preferably a good brand. Pumpkin is a good additive as it adds fiber and makes his stool voluminous, helping with digestion and evacuation of the anal sacs. There is no need to add yams or peas to his food if it is a "complete" food. You can feed boiled carrot pieces or green beans as treats.

Carrots, green beans, bananas, apples and omega 3 fatty acid supplements for pets are all excellent items to add to Penelope's kibble. The veggies can be fresh cooked (plain) or canned (no salt added). I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

I would not add chicken soup to her food as there is a lot of salt in the broth. You can add canned dog food to her diet for variety. I recommend using the same brand as the dry dog food you are feeding. Safe human foods are boiled chicken and boiled beef but canned dog food has the proper balance of vitamins and minerals. Yes you can mix dog foods if you like. Just remember that any sudden switches can cause a stomach upset in pets so mixing the foods initially during the first week is recommended. However if you want to do the food mix long term that is perfectly fine. I don't typically recommend putting dog gravy on the food because it is quite fatty and can cause Gohan to become quite obese. Most pets do just fine with just their regular dog kibble and an occasional treat 2 times a week or less. I hope this helps!
