My dog peed on the wood floor, how do I get rid of the smell?
You can try using a white vinegar and warm water mixture to see if that helps. Mix together 1/2 cup of white vinegar with a gallon of water water, and put a few drops of the mixture on the area to make sure it doesn't affect the finish of the wood floors. If it doesn't, you can use a spray bottle to spray this mixture on the area, and let it sit for five to 10 minutes. Then use a clean and dry mop to soak up the mixture, rinse the area again with warm water, and then use a sponge mop to mop up the water. You may have to repeat this a few times to get the smell out.
Some people recommend putting baking soda on the area and letting it sit for a couple of hours after removing the white vinegar and warm water mixture. You would wipe away the baking soda with water and a clean cloth after this time. Finally, you can get a product called Nature's Miracle. It's an enzymatic cleaner that breaks down the urine, but test is in a corner first to make sure it doesn't affect the floor or it's finish. Good luck, I hope this helps!
