Is my puppy's yellow poop caused by ear meds, or is it serious?

If you recently changed foods, that could also explain the coloring difference. Other times, it can be due to parasitic, viral, or bacterial infection present. The color of the stool is usually associated with something they are eating, but the yellow/orange color can sometimes be associated with liver disease. Since Marley does not seem to be responding to previous medical treatments, I would recommend that you discuss additional diagnostics with your vet. I would start with an intestinal parasite screening, and if that is negative, move on to bloodwork and/or a GI panel (specialized bloodwork). Occasionally all labs can be normal and surgical or endoscopic intestinal biopsies are needed.

Poor Oreo! If he's had a sudden change in diet, that could be the cause of his diarrhea, but it could also be due to a GI illness, eating something rotten, or a foreign body. The discharge from his eye is indicative of an eye infection. He will need to see a vet for these problems. The eye infection has to be treated by a vet, as leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. Call his vet today to make an appointment so his problems can be diagnosed and treated. Best of luck.

It's likely that the ear infection and diarrhea are unrelated. Regarding the diarrhea, it could be caused by a sudden diet change, ingestion of human food or garbage, or parasites. Canned pumpkin can be helpful to add fiber to the diet. You may also want to try a bland diet (white rice and lowfat boiled chicken). If this does not resole the diarrhea, I would recommend seeing a vet who can perform a fecal test to rule out parasites and prescribe an anti-diarrhea medication. If the ear infection does not resolve with vinegar and water, it may be caused by a bacteria or yeast. Usually prescription ear medications are required to completely resolve these type of infections. Best of luck and I hope she feels better soon!

Did anyone feed him anything other than his puppy food? If so he may have an upset stomach. He can also have one if he has intestinal parasites or a virus. Poor Chaw! Unfortunately it's impossible to know the cause of the diarrhea by looks alone. The diarrhea could be due to many conditions including a change in diet, bacterial over growth, parasites or other even parvovirus. Chaw is very small and I recommend to have her examined by the veterinarian today. Small puppies can become very sick very fast and so need aggressive, early intervention. Make sure to bring in a sample of fresh stool. The doctor will check her for parasites and bacterial over growth. Many times a bland diet can help and then a slow, gradual introduction to the normal food can be done. A good diet in general is Royal Canin. It is low residue and highly digestible. That is not a problem but could be an early sign of diarrhoea. As a first approach I would suggest to start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, vomiting, lethargy or inappetence.
