Why is my 2-month-old puppy's poop yellow and watery?

Hi there. I'm sorry that Hachi is having this problem. There are quite a few different things that can cause watery diarrhea like this in puppies, so it's hard to say what might be wrong without being able to examine him and run some tests. Some common possibilities would include intestinal parasites, an intestinal infection of some kind, parvo (if he isn't fully vaccinated), or ingestion of something toxic. If Hachi is eating and drinking normally and still active and playful, you could try deworming him with a broad-spectrum dewormer such as Panacur or Strongid, and feeding a bland diet of plain boiled chicken and rice for the next few days to see if his stool returns to normal. If there is no improvement in the next 2-3 days, or if he has any other symptoms such as vomiting, acting lethargic, or not wanting to eat, then he needs to see a vet right away as these are generally signs of a more serious problem.

Submit a stool sample to your veterinarian to diagnose intestinal parasites or bacterial overgrowth. Puppies frequently acquire roundworms from their mother or environment. The paper likely would not cause an issue unless it was a large quantity. Make sure he continues to eat and drink normally. A bland diet and/or a prescribed dewormer may firm up his stool. Monitor for lethargy, loss of appetite, vomiting or persistent diarrhea.

Hello, congratulations on your puppies. In general they can have waxing and waning stool consistencies when they are this young. Most common causes for stool changes in puppies include parasites, dietary indiscretions, or changes in their GI tracts as they develop. Currently they are too young to deworm, however, as long as they are continuing to eat then you may keep monitoring them for any lethargy, worsening soft stools or diarrhea, or parasites in their feces. If you note any of these then contact your veterinarian to have them evaluated sooner. Otherwise, continue to allow them to nurse and begin to offer wet puppy food at 4-6 weeks of age. Do you mean really runny poop? If he has watery diarrhea, I would strongly recommend to have a vet look at him. Being so young and small, he could easily get dehydrated despite drinking water. Diarrhea can be from several things like parasites, a change in diet, viral infections like parvo, toxins and much more. You can try to feed him some plain boiled boneless skinless chicken and white rice to see if this settles his tummy. If he isn’t improving, I would have your vet take a look at him. I am sorry to hear about your puppy! I would recommend scheduling an examination at a veterinarian for Bolt and bringing a sample of the stool with you. One of the most common causes of diarrhea in puppies is intestinal parasites such as roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms, as well as Coccidia and Giardia. We don't normally see the parasites with the naked eye, so tests in the vet clinic must be done to test for the parasites. If your puppy becomes lethargic, starts vomiting, or has bloody diarrhea these can be signs of a virus called Parvovirus and the puppy should be seen by the vet right away.

That is not a problem but could be an early sign of diarrhoea. As a first approach I would suggest to start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. These include parasites/worms, other infectious agents (coccidia, giardia) poor food quality, viruses, bacteria from eating garbage or raw meat, food intolerance/allergy (less likely in such a young puppy), or underlying organ diseases such as liver disease, etc. Since Europe is happy, healthy and eating, the most likely cause is either that you are feeding raw meat, or even more likely, a worm that wasn't covered by your dewormer. I recommend you have a fecal sample taken to your vet to check it for eggs and other things like coccidia and giardia. Treatments for these are different so getting an answer is important.
