My puppy is twitching and crying. Does she need an emergency vet now?

I'm sorry to hear Joe is having an issue! Certainly must have been scary for you and him! It's impossible to say what caused this in Joe, but I'm concerned that this could have been a seizure. I'd strongly recommend taking Joe to see a veterinarian right away as seizures can be caused by a number of things including toxin exposure. It could have also been due to a respiratory or heart issue. Either cause is serious and requires emergency veterinary attention. I would recommend taking him straight to an emergency clinic right away, and thinking about any toxins he may have been exposed to (rat or snail bait in your house or yard for example, cleaning supplies). It could be nothing, but it sounds like something that needs fully checked out right away.

Hello. If your puppy's symptoms seem pretty stable, & she continues to eat & drink normally, then it will be OK to wait a couple of days to have her seen. But if things worsen, especially if she stops eating or develops any diarrhea, then see if you can have her seen tomorrow. I sam so sorry that she’s not doing well. From what you describe, I’m very concerned about her and you need to seek emergency veterinary care immediately. Call your vet’s office even if they are closed—they likely have a recording for either how to contact the vet in case of an emergency, or information for the nearest vet clinic. There are many possible causes for what’s going on, but it sounds like at the very least she needs some IV fluids and some lab work and possible X-rays may be needed. I am so sorry there isn’t something I can suggest you do for her at home at this point, but if she’s just lying there, she seems cold, and her breathing is labored, you have got to get her to a vet. Intestinal worms are common in puppies, and that could be the cause of her diarrhea. She could have a respiratory infection or irritation of the nasal passages causing the reverse sneezing.
