My puppy is twitching and vomiting. Should I take him to the vet now?

I don't have a definitive answer, but certainly if there was moss in the vomit on Tuesday I would be concerned that Thunder had ingested some type of plant that is making him sick at this point. He sounds mildly inappetant - with missing only breakfast - which is a bit worrisome, but it's the muscle twitching that's really bothering me. I would be concerned that he could have ingested a plant that's neurotoxic (i.e. affects the nervous system) and the spasms are caused by that. Hopefully it's not too serious, but the fact that the symptoms started more than 48 hours ago and are not getting better would make me want to get this checked out ASAP. Poisonous plants can can liver damage, and even though the liver will repair itself patients often need supportive care - such as IV fluids - in order to get back to normal. I'd recommend getting him checked today, running some blood work, and considering a brief period of hospitalization to get him back to normal.

This sounds serious so I recommend a veterinary exam right away. With a small dog they can get dehydrated very quickly and the sooner the vomiting and diarrhea are controlled the better he’ll be. If she really isn't doing well and you feel she needs veterinary care immediately I would recommend going to an emergency hospital. Without actually seeing her do it, it is hard to say why. You can always check a temperature on her rectally. Dogs typically run between 101-103. Vomiting and lack of appetite could be signs of a problem within the GI tract, such as ingestion of foreign material or garbage, or possibly a sign of an infectious disease. It could also be a sign of a problem outside the GI tract such as liver/kidney disease or pancreatitis. As Stuart is still a young puppy with any vomiting or lack of appetite they can have a challenging time maintaining their blood sugar and temperature so I would strongly urge you to have him seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible. Yes, definitely take her into the vet now. Bailey is a young puppy, and while she may have swallowed some tissues, I'd also be concerned she could have parvovirus as she won't be fully vaccinated. Whenever a young puppy is having both vomiting and diarrhea, the best thing for them is to have them see a vet immediately. Best of luck.

Poor Rocco! It sounds like he really needs veterinary attention, and unfortunately there is nothing that I could recommend you try at home. If he has been vomiting he could be dehydrated and his blood sugar could be low.
