Why does my puppy sleep under the bed? Is this normal behavior?

Silly Yogi! :) This is actually very common - many puppies and also adult dogs like to sleep under things, as it makes them feel more secure. One of my dogs actually likes to sleep with his head under the couch and his body sticking out; he's 9 years old now, and has always done this. As long as Yogi is acting normal otherwise, this shouldn't be any cause for concern.

Hi there! Ziggy is probably just going somewhere he feels safe. Under your couch is a place that is probably mostly dark and somewhat confined. This is why many people crate train their puppies-it gives them a place to feel safe and secure! Hope this helps you, and congrats on your new puppy!

Hi there. It's fine to let him sleep in bed with you if you don't mind, and if you're a light enough sleeper to wake up during the night if he needs a potty break (which is likely!). It's normal for young puppies to be frightened or unsure about sleeping alone at first. Until today, he always slept with his littermates in a warm snuggly pile, with his mom nearby. So being by himself in a cold bed is scary, and not natural.

This is okay and normal behavior for a puppy to have bursts of energy at all the wrong times it seems. Her energy will start to settle out and habits become more regular as she gets a little older. Maintain a regular schedule for Biscuit (regular times for eating, potty, etc) and she will adapt gradually to that. Be patient!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If all the dogs are tolerating sharing of the beds I don't think there is much to do or read in to. Since Milo doesn't normally live with you he probably isn't possessive of this bed and he is young at 10 months. Anakin must like the bed. If it bothers you then I would keep removing Anakin from Milo's bed and try to keep each dog in their respective places but it may be a losing battled unless you physically separate the dogs at night in different rooms. There is no way to know exactly why Mya is exhibiting this new behavior. It could be as simple as she is just too hot in the bed, or feels nervous about jumping up or down, etc. As long as she seems completely normal otherwise, and has no vomiting, diarrhea, or other medical issues going on, I would try not to worry too much about it. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Yes, you can move his bed out of your room to where ever you prefer, Just be prepared for some crying and barking for a few days. It might be best to practice using the new location during the day so it is less "new" and shocking at bedtime. If you choose the garage, be sure all poisons and toxins, anti-freeze, rat or mouse traps are high up or not present. I hope this helps and I wish you and Gohan the best!
