My puppy is sick after vaccine, has wet eyes. Is this normal?

Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 24 days old | 2 lbs

My puppy is 11 weeks old, 2 days after her second shot she was sick just once in the morning, hasnt had diahrea but has slightly wet streaks under her eyes, no loss of appetite drinks whenever she wants and generally seems ok, but when she was sick made me a little worried, it did tho just appeared to be flem nothing more

Poor little Kitana! Pets can vomit for many reasons and it could have been related to the vaccines. If she is ill beyond 24 hours, then I recommend to have her seen by her veterinarian. I recommend to call her veterinarian and let them know what you saw at home. The doctor may want to administer diphenhydramine prior to her next round of vaccines just in case it was a vaccine reaction. Keep Kitana quiet today and monitor her closely. Make sure she is eating and drinking normally. I hope she gets back to her usual self quickly and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Since the vaccines were given a few days ago I do not think this is related to the vaccines. The eye drainage could be due to allergies. You could try to give her one adult tablet (25mg) of Benadryl twice a day to see if this helps. If she is squinting or the discharge is yellow or green then I would have your vet look at her to ensure she doesn't need any eye meds. The vomiting can be caused from several things including eating something she shouldn't, a parasite, a GI obstruction, a bacterial/viral infection and much more. Since it was just one time, you can try to withhold her food for 12 hours and then offer a small amount of plain boiled chicken (no bones) and rice to see if this helps. If she continues to vomit then I would see your vet for an exam. Your vet will be able to do a fecal and bloodwork or X-rays if needed. i hope this helps!

Why is my puppy vomiting and not eating days after its 5-in-1 vaccine?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Muggim. I recommend that he sees a veterinarian today. That is a lot of vomiting in a puppy. The milk will not sit well on his stomach so I would stop offering that in the meantime. A vaccine reaction can cause vomiting, but it typically does not last so long. Was he given a deworming medication at the time of the vaccine? A high parasite burden can cause vomiting as they die off. Either way, he needs to be evaluated to determine the cause of his symptoms and how best to treat him. I hope this information helps!

Why is my puppy throwing up only in the morning after a vaccine?

It's not uncommon for pups to be a little sick in the morning as they haven't eaten for a long time and bile and acid can irritate their tummies. As long as the puppy is in good form and is not vomiting throughout the day I would not get overly concerned. I would have the pup examined if it becomes a regular occurrence. Vaccines tend to cause local reactions in the skin like you describe but systemic vaccine reactions are much less common. There could be a potential link but if so it seems mild and should pass.

My shih tzu puppy is vomiting days after vaccine. What should I do?

It is a vaccination reaction if they are excessively vomiting. So if he vomited once or twice I just have people watch them. If you are concerned because it has been more then that I would recommend calling your veterinarian so they can treat him.
