Why is my puppy throwing up only in the morning after a vaccine?

The milk will not sit well on his stomach so I would stop offering that in the meantime. A vaccine reaction can cause vomiting, but it typically does not last so long. Was he given a deworming medication at the time of the vaccine? A high parasite burden can cause vomiting as they die off. Hello! Sounds like Gus vomitted up some bile. As long as this was the only instance of vomit and he otherwise appears to be acting like himself, I would not worry. It's unlikely that the vomit is related to the vaccines as vaccine reactions typically happen immediately or within a couple of hours after administration of the vaccine. Hello. It is not unusual for a puppy to feel a little unwell after receiving vaccinations, but these reactions rarely require treatment. Most symptoms will pass in 12-24 hours. If Baxter is otherwise feeling OK, or sleeping quietly, then leave him be. Poor little Kitana! Pets can vomit for many reasons and it could have been related to the vaccines. If she is ill beyond 24 hours, then I recommend to have her seen by her veterinarian. I recommend to call her veterinarian and let them know what you saw at home. The doctor may want to administer diphenhydramine prior to her next round of vaccines just in case it was a vaccine reaction. Keep Kitana quiet today and monitor her closely. Coco may be stressed from the visit or having a mild reaction to the vaccinations. You can try to offer her a small meal of boiled chicken and sweet potato or rice to see if this settles her stomach. Puppy's getting sleepy after their shots is a normal reaction to vaccinations. They can also have a low grade fever and/or one bout of vomiting/diarrhea normally that are no cause for concern. The concern arises when your pet is severely lethargic, not eating, non-responsive, pale gums, or excessive vomiting/diarrhea. If you notice any of these symptoms then it is best to take puppy to a vet asap for immediate care, because a mores serious vaccine reaction is occurring at that point.

If a dog is going to suffer a vaccine reaction, it typically occurs the same day as the vaccination. So this is likely unrelated. He may be experiencing GI upset secondary to all the new treats. I would stop those for now. Being so young and small, he should see his veterinarian if symptoms persist. In the meantime, encourage him to eat and drink small amounts.
