Hello. Lily may have a mild staph infection on her belly, & these are very common in young dogs & puppies. Simparica Trio is an excellent product, so it is unlikely these are any kind of bites. If the red spots continue, you might ask your veterinarian for an antibacterial shampoo. This is often all that is necessary to clear up these mild infections & rarely do you need oral antibiotics . The reason for the second deworming 3 weeks later is to kill any tapeworms that were still immature at the last deworming and were not yet sensitive to the dewormer or if she has gotten infected again since the last deworming. Drontal is a very safe medication with very few side effects since it only affects the parasites in the GI tract. Poor Nala! There are a number of things that could cause red spots on her stomach. If they are very small and look like pimples all over her belly, this is a common sign of a bacterial skin infection called pyoderma. If it's more of a flat, red rash, this is more likely to be an allergic reaction or an area of irritated skin, which could be due to sitting in urine if she does this for long periods. I would recommend having her examined by a vet when you can, to determine what is causing the spots - she may need prescription antibiotics or anti-inflammatory medication to treat the problem, depending on the diagnosis.

Hi, and thanks for your question. This could be due to an allergy, although it could also be infection or mites. First of all, in order to rule out skin parasites, you will need to treat with a high quality flea treatment, then ask the vet to perform a skin scrape - this might reveal an infection or a mite infestation. If all of those came back negative, the next step is to treat the allergy symptomatically and try to discover the cause of the allergy. Three main type of allergies are usually affecting pets: food allergies, flea and parasite related ones and environmental type (allergens coming from trees, pollens, dust etc etc). Some medications can be given by the vet in order to repair any possible skin lesions (like steroids and antibiotics). It could be that Pixie is suffering from puppy pyoderma, which is a skin infection. She could also have petechiae, which is tiny pin points of blood caused by a bleeding disorder. Without seeing her in person, there is no way I can say for certain what is cousin these red spots. The only way to know for sure is to have her seen by a vet. The vet can diagnose what is causing these spots on her skin and can treat her for it.

I am so sorry Pretty Girl is going through this. On her belly it looks like a little skin infection but on her side it looks like hives. If this just started today I would take her to an emergency veterinarian for a possible allergic reaction. If this has been going on for a few days call your regular veterinarian tomorrow. If you wait then during the night if the bumps that look like hives get worse, her face swells or she has difficulty breathing then take her to an emergency veterinarian asap.
