Drontal Plus is extremely effective for treating tapeworms. However, I am concerned that if he vomited soon after giving the medication, there is a chance it did not absorb. Generally we recommend to give advocate first followed later by drontal but as a rule the two products do not have any additive effects or reactions. Non-urgent meds are usually best separated and advocate and drontal should be separated because of the flea-tapeworm lifestyle. Certain fleas contain tapeworm larvae which hatch when swallowed; once you have killed all the fleas you would then follow on with tablet to kill any tapeworms. Monitor for any strange behaviors and report to your vet with this history of it occurs within 24hrs but this is very unlikely

Your pet should get two doses 2 weeks apart because this is the life cycle of the worm.
