My puppy pooped white worms. Is it an emergency or can he wait?

The worms can be tapeworms and they often look like small pieces of rice. They get these from eating a flea. It can cause itching and irritation around there anus. However an infectedcor impacted anal gland can also cause the same symptoms and can rupture if untreated. I would take him to the vet to have the worms confirmed and get medicine for that. They can also chechnyhebgkabds to make sure antibiotics aren't needed to help. Just because you don't see worms doesn't mean they aren't there. In fact, hookworms are the worms that cause anemia (and subsequently white gums) and they are so tiny you cannot see them with the naked eye. There are other intestinal parasite, like coccidia, that are microscopic as well. I would recommend bringing a fecal sample to your vet to have it analyzed so you can make sure you are treating all the parasites the puppy may have. Also, keep in mind, most puppies need multiple dewormings to get all of the parasites. Giving her moist food is fine, it will also help hydrate her since she isn't drinking great.
