How to get my puppy to pee in the middle of the pee pad for training?

Keep him on a leash attached to your hip until he is completely house trained. Watch for his cues that he may need to use the pad or go outside. This can be circling, sniffing around, pacing and/or whining. To get him to use the pads consistently, you can try a spray attractant. These training aids can be purchased online or in most pet stores.

It can be confusing to train a puppy to go in the house (which is what using a pee pad really is) and also to do her business outside. She can certainly be out long enough to go in all types of weather. You can hold an umbrella over her if necessary.

This would help your pup identify the right place to do her business. You can get this at your local pet store. Given that she learned how to let you guys know when she wants to go outside, she is for sure very smart so I'm sure she will learn this as well. I would recommend trying to potty train daisy outside. Sometimes it can be hard for dogs to realize the difference between the potty pad and regular floor. However if you want her potty pad trained every time you see her not using the pad take her over to it immediately. Also, you can take her to the pad multiple times through the day and if she pees give her an award like a treat.

2 months is extremely young, and Harley likely doesn't know what you expect from her. As for not sniffing, that is pretty normal for this age. If you are using both potty pads and going outside Totoro is likely confused. If he successfully goes potty outside, then I would move him outside if you catch him in an accident so he can finish there. As puppies tend to take a little longer before they realize they need to go or make a connection between outside and going, you will need to give Totoro enough time outside to go potty, which means making time for him even if you are "time limited", or having a friend take him out when you can't.
