My 3-month pug puppy isn't eating, vomiting white foam, shivering. Help!

Hello. If this has been ongoing for several hours & she has vomited multiple times, then I would consider having Kreacher seen by your veterinarian tonight or as soon as possible tomorrow. The biggest concern is dehydration, so you can try to give her a couple of teaspoons of water or broth every hour or so. If she feels like drinking, but vomits afterwards, replace her water with ice cubes to lick on. Absolutely no food until tomorrow. Poor Ava sounds pretty sick, and she may have a stomach illness. She could be trembling because she has a fever, and I'm concerned that she's not eating much. Try feeding her a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If she refuses to eat the bland diet, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. She is probably shivering because her body is trying to adjust after losing so much food and fluid when she vomited. Try to keep her calm and comfortable for now. You may want to see if she needs to get up and walk outside. If her abnormal behavior continues for more than a few hours you should consider taking her to be examined by the vet. I hope this helps. Hi, sorry to hear your puppy is sick. Vomiting once does not concern me. Since she is a puppy, she may have gotten into something she's not supposed to and has an upset stomach. I would give her a pill of pepcid or Famotidine then fast her with no food or water for 6-8 hours. Then start with some water. If she keeps that down, feed her some boiled chicken and rice instead of her own food and no treats either. Feed her this for 2-3 days to settle her stomach. if at time time she continues to vomit or is also having diarrhea, he will need to see a vet. Puppies can get dehydrated quickly and should get tested for the serious disease called parvovirus if she is having vomiting or diarrhea. Good luck, i hope Jessi feels better!

It certainly sounds as though Beast is quite sick. Some of the more common reasons for vomiting and not eating in young dogs are a foreign body intestinal obstruction/blockage, parasites and stomach upset from eating inappropriate food. I'm glad to hear that Beast has been vaccinated because this makes diseases, like parvovirus, much less likely. Since he is such a young puppy, he will be more sensitive to the effects of dehydration from vomiting. A vet should examine Beast, possibly perform abdominal x-rays, and institute any necessary fluid therapy and deworming.

Monty sounds like he is very sick! It sounds like he has only had one round of vaccinations, so he is still susceptible to parvovirus, which can be a life threatening infection. Even if he does not have a parvo infection, vomiting and diarrhea can quickly dehydrate a young puppy. I recommend taking him to your veterinarian. Your veterinarian may want to test for parvovirus. He may need hospitalization and medications to help him feel better. Hope he feels better soon!

I'm sorry to hear that Melow isn't eating well for you. It is normal for a puppy not to eat a lot the first day in a new home. It can be a stressful transition. However, it is abnormal for the lack of appetite to last several days. The vomiting is not normal either. Melow need to see a veterinarian. He is so young, I worry about him becoming dehydrated. Even if he is drinking some, it is likely less than if he was eating normally. He may require fecal testing and deworming or more aggressive care depending on his exam findings. Do your best to encourage him to eat and drink. You can add warm water to his dry kibble. Some dogs like canned food warmed up a bit as well.
