My 3-month-old puppy won't eat and is getting very thin. What to do?

I recommend having Koota seen by a vet immediately for treatment, as it sounds like his current condition could be life-threatening. There are a number of bacterial, viral and parasitic diseases he may have, particularly since both his parents passed away, presumably from illness, and he is likely dehydrated and probably has dangerously low blood sugar if he hasn't eaten in two days. Please have him seen immediately.

This could be distemper but could also just be a little upset tummy or parasites. There are a lot of different things that can cause loss of appetite. I would try to offer him some plain boiled boneless skinless chicken and white rice to see if this entices him to eat and settles his tummy. If he is still not eating then I would have your vet take a look at him. These little puppies can get dehydrated really quick so I don’t recommend waiting to see a vet for too long. He should not be this thin. I would be very worried about some underlying disease condition that is preventing him from either being able to eat the food, or from being able to absorb the food. Possible causes are GI parasites (worms, giardia, coccidia, etc.), exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI), other GI absorbtive disorders (IBD, GI lymphoma, etc.), partial obstruction or foreign object in the gut, persistent right aortic arch or hiatal hernia causing vomiting/regurgitation, food allergies, etc. I would try feeding him boiled rice with boiled/boneless/skinless chicken breasts, as well as a high quality canned puppy food. I would also strongly recommend getting him to a vet where I would discuss a fecal test, a deworming trial, x-rays or preferably ultrasound, testing for EPI depending on the quality of his feces, and x-rays of the chest to look for congenital malforations there. At 2 months of age, this has me worried that he may be battling an infection such as Parvo virus. He may also be dehydrated if he is weak and is likely in need of fluid therapy for rehydration. I would recommend having him examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I would have him parvo tested and have his blood tested to see if there are any other abnormalities. Subcutaneous fluids would certainly help him feel better and he may be so dehydrated the IV fluids may be the best option for him. It is difficult to say without examining him to see how severe he is. I hope this helps! Have him examined by a veterinarian. A stool sample should be rechecked for intestinal parasites or bacterial overgrowth. Puppies typically require multiple deworming to clear parasites. Malabsorption or maldigestion issues should also be ruled out. Review the vaccination history with the veterinarian to confirm Brownie is adequately protected against illness.

I am sorry Boba is not feeling well. At that young of an age he most likely needs soften kibble with warm water or you can try can puppy food. Typically dogs are weaned at 5 weeks so 4 weeks might be a little young. i would recommend trying to stay away from people food. If Boba gets use to eating people food he might never want to eat dog food. If he is not acting right or seems sick at this young of an age he really needs to go to a vet. In young dogs parasites, infection and viral disease are all possible and he should really be examined to determine why he is ill. i hope that helps

It's not an issue, just take him to the vet and have him vaccinated, he will need at least two vaccinations 4 weeks apart. regarding the food- try to switch to a different brand of food such as Royal canin.
