Puppy hit head: Why is her head swollen and soft like jello?

I am so sorry this happened! It is so easy to do with such a little puppy and unfortunately I have seen it many times. I would recommend taking her to a veterinarian immediately. This type of trauma can result in skull fractures, swelling or bleeding inside the brain, seizures, coma or death. Head trauma needs to be treated aggressively to try and prevent irreversible damage to the brain.

Any head trauma resulting in noticeable swelling should be addressed as soon as possible by your veterinarian. If your vet is unavailable, go to the nearest veterinary ER. Poor Mimi! She could have some internal injury and bleeding going on. It is possible if she is not urinating that she may have a ruptured bladder. If possible, she needs to have Xrays taken of her abdomen at a vet clinic to see if there is internal bleeding and damage. If so, she may need to have surgery. If this is not possible, she needs to be on antibiotics and pain medication at a bare minimum. Hope that helps!

There are other medications that she may need to feel better from her doctor: a muscle relaxant called roabaxin to help her aching muscles if she is having neck pain. If she still has a bump on her head and is having a fever that may be associated with infection. You could inquire about antibiotics as well from her doctor.
