My puppy's head keeps swelling and disappearing. What's wrong?

This could be due to an infection or an allergic reaction for example. I would highly recommend that you have her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! He is so adorable! This could have been due to a traumatic injury during the play date even if there is not an external wound present. Another possibility is that this was noted incidentally after a play date and this is actually something unrelated such as due to dental disease or even a growth underneath those tissues. I recommend you keep an eye on it for now. If it is just swelling from a traumatic injury, it may improve on its own. However, it may not improve on its own and need further therapy. If it is something else, it will probably continue to be present or worsen over time. If it does not improve or it worsens in the next week, I highly recommend that you have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck!

Those images could either be a bite that is infected, or could be a very enlarged lymph node and a condition called 'puppy strangles' where the lymph nodes swell up. Either way, it looks very serious and requires medical attention. The treatment for these two different conditions is very different and treatment for one could make the other much worse. I recommend you bring your puppy to a veterinarian right away for treatment. Best of luck with your little one, I hope he feels better soon!

This is possibly due to an allergic reaction or it could even be an actual on going allergy to something like fleas, food or an allergen in the environment. Allergic reactions are usually treated with anti-histamine medications such as Benadryl and steroids. Cameron should be evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They could start therapy for this to see if it improves. In most cases it does improve and resolve and if no further exposures to the antigen occur, then this would not recur. This is something your veterinarian could check for on an examination and treat if confirmed. This is something that is treated with local therapy including drainage, debridement and antibiotics. This could of course be something else as it is not possible to know for sure without evaluating her. I recommend you have her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am sorry to hear that your pet Tony has vision problems and now what appears to be a mass/tumor or possible seroma (blood filled sac). In order to figure out what this swelling truly is, a visit to your vet is required. The vet can take a radiograph of the swelling to gather more clues and possibly even sample the swelling to identify it.
