My new puppy's eyes look crossed. Is this normal or a problem?

She looks very sweet and her eyes look fairly normal. Cross-eyedness is not a sign that the puppy will go blind. There are many dogs that are a bit cross-eyed and they have absolutely no health problems with their eyes.

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. It looks like Miles's third eyelid is slightly elevated on that side. Either that, or he has what is called lateral strabismus. This can occur in puppies but should resolve as he gets older. If his eye ever becomes more deviated to the left, or if the other eye starts deviating out, he should be seen by your veterinarian. Otherwise, I would give him a few weeks to see an improvement. I do not really appreciate any problems with the eyes in these photos. His right eye may have more of the sclera (white of the eye) showing at the middle corner area but I would not consider it abnormal. If you are worried I suggest you have him to a local vet for an exam. That way they can use the eye scope (ophthalmoscope) to check the eyes. Eye problems are best diagnosed in person.

It looks like the right eye is a little 'wall eyed' but most pets will not have any problems with this condition. While it's not 'normal', it's also not uncommon. Based on her breed (shih tzu or a mix of one) strabismus (or slight malposition or misalignment of the eye ball) is normal. This does not affect their vision at all! I hope this helps!

This is not normal. This is something that you can see in dogs with flat faces and big eyes. Less commonly it could indicate a neurological disease. I recommend to play it safe and have Izzie checked by the veterinarian. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Eye color in puppies this young can be very variable, sometimes appearing completely black when first opening. The eye color is likely to change as they grow older and into their own. As long as you do not see any discharge or cloudiness associated with the eyes, the color should not be something to be concerned with. Just make sure all the other puppy's eyes are opening relatively soon and look relatively normal. Good luck with your pups!
