Puppy ate bed cotton, threw up, but acting normal. Vet needed?

If she vomits again, has any difficulty pooping (acting constipated) is lethargic, not eating or otherwise acts sick at all, then she needs to go to the vet asap. If she is 100% normal after this, then she may have vomited all the fibers that she ate. Be sure to watch what she is chewing on, puppies get into everything. Good luck, I hope this helps.

If she ate a significant amount of her bedding, it's definitely possible that she could have an intestinal obstruction. Normally, signs of an obstruction would include vomiting, lethargy, not eating, and not having bowel movements. It sounds like your pup is eating normally and having bowel movements regularly. Vomiting once or twice is not necessarily a concern is she is still eating find and acting normal - but if she has repeated episodes of vomiting, stops having bowel movements, or begins acting lethargic then I would recommend having her seen by a vet right away.

If he only vomited the one time, then I would continue to see how things go. If he continues to vomit and develops other symptoms such as refusal to eat, vomiting up water, or becoming lethargic, then I would definitely worry about a foreign body obstruction and get him seen right away. Since you don't when or how much, it is reasonable to monitor for any GI upset or vomiting or diarrhea and monitor his activity level and appetite. If you notice any changes over the next 1-2 days then he needs to be seen by a vet to see if there is an obstruction.

If he continues to vomit than you should be worried and have him examined by a vet. Your vet can take an X-ray to look for signs of an obstruction. If the vomiting has resolved than just monitor him for additional signs.

Well that was naughty of him. If the material is coming out that is a good sign. We get concerned about possible foreign body issues when we see vomiting (even water), decreased appetite, and lethargy. As long as he is still bouncing around, eating well and acting like his normal self, there is no need for concern. If he does start to have symptoms, then a vet visit is highly recommended. Just try to keep him away from things he can ingest and always monitor him when he is outside of his crate. Oh dear! It's common for puppies this age to eat things like this that they shouldn't, unfortunately. You're right that it's possible for pieces of the mask to get stuck in his intestines and cause an obstruction, but they may also pass through his system without any problems at all. As long as he is acting normal (eating and drinking fine, active and playful, no vomiting, and pooping regularly), there shouldn't be any reason for concern. If he stops eating, or begins to vomit or act lethargic, then I would recommend taking him to the vet for x-rays to see if he may have an obstruction - if so, surgery can be performed to remove the blockage at that time. But as long as he is not showing any symptoms, there is no need for any kind of treatment :)
