My puppy ate underwear string. Should I worry if he seems fine now?

I would monitor her stool to see if there is any evidence of the fabric in her stool. If he only vomited the one time, then I would continue to see how things go. If he continues to vomit and develops other symptoms such as refusal to eat, vomiting up water, or becoming lethargic, then I would definitely worry about a foreign body obstruction and get him seen right away. There is always a chance for an intestinal obstruction to occur within the first 2-12hrs of ingesting a foreign body, so continue to monitor her for this time frame for any signs of trouble which include: excessive vomiting ( even water), lack of appetite, abdominal pain and severe lethargy. However things are looking good so far, especially since she has eaten and kept it down.

It can take time for the underwear to pass, but if it still hasn't passed by Monday, I would take him into the vet for an x-ray to see if the thong can be visualized in the intestine. The signs of a foreign body / obstruction in the small intestine include vomiting, abdominal pain, lack of appetite, not passing stools at all. If you see any of these signs, you need to take Gianny to your vets right away.

This could become a problem in that strings can cause a foreign body obstruction in the intestine. You can try to feed your puppy some sauerkraut which hopefully will envelope the string and take it with it through the intestines to be excreted naturally.
