It is likely that it did not hurt the puppies, as if it had, she likely would have aborted them by now. Playing with another dog also is not the type of stress that would hurt a pregnancy. Let her play and be happy. This would be the best environment for her. She does need a place where she can retire to so that the other dogs do not pester her when she would like to be left alone. Tell the children not to play footbal near the dogs.

Although trauma can cause miscarriage, the pups are quite well protected by fluid etc around them and it is likely she was more startled than hurt if she is otherwise behaving normally now. Monitor very closely for any signs of discharge, bleeding or ongoing pain and discomfort and keep her well rested overnight. Unfortunately, if she is going to lose the pregnancy there is very little that can be done to alter this process other than rest and monitoring

The puppies are either reabsorbed into the body or the dog will pass them. If she was almost full term you can take her to the vet to check for any puppies still present in the uterus with an X-ray. Causes of miscarriage are: uterine infections, brucellosis, genetic issues with the puppies, other viral or bacterial infections and medications Snoopy may have received during pregnancy. If she is sick she should see a veterinarian. Any puppies that are full term and remain in the uterus will cause her to be sick. I wish you the best!

I do not recommend raw or home cooked diets as they are deficient in the appropriate nutrients unless balanced by a nutritionist. I would recommend that you continue to monitor her closely for any signs consistent with a gastrointestinal obstruction such as vomiting, inappetence and abdominal pain. There can sometimes be complications with labor and delivery, just like in humans, so this is definitely something you will need to watch out for when the time comes. If you don't want to take any chances and aren't planning to use Layla for breeding, you could opt to go ahead and have her spayed now - this will abort the pregnancy and prevent her from becoming pregnant again in the future.
