My paralyzed dog on crate rest has bloody diapers. Is it stress?

Diarrhea with blood can be due to stress, or it can be from an infection or parasites. If she’s bright and alert and eating and drinking normally this should resolve quickly. If she’s lethargic, depressed, not eating well then please take her right in for an exam and treatment. They will give medication to control the diarrhea, and may check for parasites, and blood work to check for anemia and dehydration. I recommend taking her for long walks and playing with her like you normally do so she’ll relax in the new apartment. If it was just one episode and Marceline is otherwise feeling and eating well I would feed her a bland diet of skinless, boneless chicken breast and white rice for a couple of days. If the diarrhea continues I would have her seen by your veterinarian so they can prescribe medication to help clear up the diarrhea. If dogs have an episode of diarrhea with blood it can be colitis from stress but if it is continuing there could be another issue going on such as a parasite.

Diarrhea can be the result of an intestinal infection, dietary indiscretion (eating something that upset her gastrointestinal tract), inflammation or even stress. Bloody urine is typically due to a bladder infection, bladder stones, a primary bleeding disorder or in rare cancers bladder cancer. Hello. At this age I would be concerned about cancer, but it may also be an infection in one of her anal glands, a parasitic infection, or colitis.
