Why is my older dog suddenly vomiting, aggressive, and in pain?

I would contact the veterinarian again and ask if they can provide you with a sedative / anti-anxiety medication prior to coming in and then have you muzzle her prior to bringing her in. Medications such as Trazodone and amitriptyline together can help with the anxiety. She really needs to be seen by a veterinarian and have her blood tested to see if there are any abnormal systemic changes that could be causing the symptoms you are describing. With her age, I am concerned about something systemic that could be abnormal or cancer. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. The symptoms you are describing can be caused by many things and would be best to have a veterinarian perform Diagnostics to rule out different causes. I would be concerned about a foreign body obstruction, systemic disease or infection, or trauma-related. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Honey! She is very cute! Honey sounds very painful. The most common reason for random crying out in pain and trouble sitting is neck or back pain. The dog's also stop jumping up and have trouble doing steps. The most common cause is a muscle strain or sprain or a mineralized disk. I treat neck and back pain with muscle relaxants, pain medications and anti-inflammatories. I recommend having Honey seen by a Vet. They can help figure out where she is painful and prescribe the correct medications. Please do not start human medications as they can interfere with the medications your Vet will want to prescribe. I hope this helps and I wish Honey a speedy recovery!

If she is a small breed dog, neck or back pain are common sources of pain. The muscles that line the spine can spasm causing the dog intense pain. In worst case scenarios, pressure can be put on the spinal cord resulting in neurological problems. If this is not the case, abdominal pain from GI upset or even constipation could be the source of pain. Her examination should tell the doctor the source of her pain so that treatment recommendations can be made. Keep her very quiet up until her appointment this afternoon. It could be the meloxicam is no longer enough for her pain, and she may need an additional pain medication or an increase in dosage. She does sound painful to me. Crying is usually indicative of pain. Your Bimbo is obviously in distress. It could be from a blockage, tumor, or other medical condition. Please do not medicate her without the express recommendation of a vet. If you do not have one nearby, perhaps there is an animal shelter or humane society with access to one. She needs to be seen right away. I hope you have a good outcome.

Any dog that all of a sudden acts aggressive it is usually due to some type of pain in the body. If he is not eating he may have an intestinal obstruction and that is painful. I suggest you get him to a vet for an exam.
