Why does my old dog shake, vomit, and sleep all day after dark?

It is recommended to take LIttle Bear to the veterinarian to be evaluated. There are many different causes of vomiting. He may have a gastrointestinal upset, Pancreatitis, Foreign Body, etc. Your veterinarian will be able to do a complete physical examination and determine if any and what diagnostics are needed. Seeing that Booboo is 12 years old, I would recommend having him examined by a veterinarian and have his blood tested to make sure that there are no major changes to his blood that would indicate why he is exhibiting these symptoms. He may be shivering and whimpering because of discomfort. The vomiting could be due to systemic illness or infection. The sooner he is seen by a veterinarian the better. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Bear! He is probably uncomfortable if he keeps getting up and rearranging himself. With the vomiting it makes me think his belly hurts and he is nauseous and that is why he can't rest comfortably or eat. Possible causes of vomiting, not eating and an uncomfortable belly are: pancreatitis, a foreign body that is stuck, inflammation of the stomach or intestines from viral or bacterial infections or from eating something that doesn't agree with him. I recommend that you take Bear to your Vet as soon as you can. Based on their physical exam they may want to do blood work and X-rays of his belly. Your poor pup sounds ill! Without seeing him in person, I can't say what is causing his symptoms, but it could be due to a systemic infection or injury to name a few things. The best thing to do for him is to take him into a vet as soon as possible. I hope this helps!

I would recommend taking Basil to see a veterinarian. Without a complete physical examination it is very difficult to say if it is time for Basil. The veterinarian can discuss with your friend if treatment or diagnostics is something that would help Basil or if something worse is going on with her that cannot be treated. I am sorry to hear that Teddy isn't feeling well. The shaking has me concerned about pain, especially back pain, (they do not always cry when painful), fever, or extreme weakness. Since this has already gone on for more than 24 hours without any improvment, then I would highly encourage you to have him evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. After a thorough examination they will likely have an idea as to what could be causing his symptoms and will have a recommendation for you.
