My dog is cold, shaky, and tired. Should I take him to the vet?

Poor Jackson! He could be shaking from pain, which would also cause him to be lethargic. At his age, it could be that he is suffering from arthritis. I would rest him tonight, and then have Jackson seen by a vet first thing tomorrow if he's still shaking and acting lethargic. The vet can diagnose what is causing his symptoms, and can treat him for them.

If this is unusual behavior for your dog I would be concerned that there's something wrong. Shaking and lethargy can be indicative of pain, anxiety or that the pet just isn't feeling well. I would recommend that you take her to be seen by your regular veterinarian. A thorough examination will help determine what may be wrong and how to make her feel better

Poor guy. Unfortunately, lethargy and shaking can be caused by a number of conditions including: toxin ingestion, severe anemia, sepsis (infection in the bloodstream), an electrolyte imbalance, or a neurological condition just to name a few. If Rocky is acating abnormal in this way and doesn't seem to be snapping out of it for more than 30 mins or so, then its best to take him to your local ER vet for further evaluation. Please also check his gum color to ensure they are still nice and pink. Pale gums are cause for an immediate vet visit wtihout waiting for the pet to improve. Hello. I am sorry for your concerns about Dakota. Everything points to a possible infection, possibly viral or bacterial, or he even ingested something toxic or foreign. You are right to be concerned about him. He definitely needs to be thoroughly examined to find the cause of his malaise. I would contact your veterinarian as soon as possible so any possible treatments or medications can be started to hopefully have him feeling better soon. Thank you.

Oh my, poor Emma sounds quite ill! She could have gotten into something toxic, may have eaten something rotten, or could have a severe GI illness among other causes. Given that she is very lethargic and cold, she needs to see a vet immediately for treatment. The vet can diagnose what is causing her symptoms, and can treat her for them. Please take Bella into an ER vet or find a vet on call to see her now.

Oh my. Poor guy. His symptoms unfortunately aren’t specific for one disease process to speak ok. Lethargy, shivering and weakness can be caused by just about any disease process including: toxin ingestion, underlying heart disease, or even anaphylactic shock is a possibility. But one thing is sure, Snoopy is in need of medical care if this has been going on for more than 6 hrs or so. He will need some diagnostic testing (bloodwork analysis to start) to determine what the underlying problem is so that we know how best to help Snoopy get better. Poor Tigs! It definitely sounds like something is wrong. Unfortunately, these are very vague symptoms that could be caused by almost any kind of medical problem - shaking, acting lethargic, and not eating are generally signs of pain or discomfort, but beyond that he would need an exam and some diagnostic testing to determine what's wrong. I would recommend taking him to the vet today to be seen. He/she can do blood work, x-rays, or other testing if needed to help diagnose the problem.
