My large puppy poops too often. Is his current puppy food the issue?

Your puppy is still very young. Usually mommy would still clean him up. It is normal for small puppies to pass stool right after eating. It is also normal to pass stool 7-8 times a day. This will get less as your puppy gets older. He should be fed canned puppy food (specifically for puppies!) for large breed puppies. I am not sure what you are feeding but you should pick a high quality food that is easily to digest. Some of the lower quality foods will cause dogs to defecate more because the food is not very digestible. If he is having diarrhea then have your vet test a fecal sample for parasites.
