What breed is my small dog? Experts are stumped! How to find out?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | unspayed | 4 lbs

What kind of dog is this? This is my dogs mother and i have asked every pet shop and every pet expert and nobody act like they know what she is, like she’s rare lol

What a cutie! She is not a single breed I recognize so I would suspect she is a mixture of two or more breeds. Based on her appearance I would suspect spaniel of some kind (possibly cavalier king charles spaniel) possibly with a small australian sheperd or border collie. Your notes however say she is only 4 pounds and if that is truly the case then I would suspect a long haired chihuahua mix. There are genetic tests available to help identify the breeds if you are truly wanting to know. How can I find my dog's mixed breed without a vet visit?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Max. She is adorable! I recommend using a DNA home test kit to determine her breed composition. You collect a cheek swab and submit to it a laboratory. You recieve information of her genetic make up based on these results. Just adopted a dog, how can I identify her breed and background?

What a cutie! She appears to have some Papillon in her due to her ear, but her coloring is reminiscent of some larger breeds such as a Rottweiler or a herding dog like an Australian Shepard. It is hard to say for sure. There are some genetic tests you can order for more certainly. I would defiantly say there is some Papillon, and 100% cute!
