How can I identify my new puppy's breed and approximate age?

Hello. If her teeth are just beginning to grow big, & based on how she looks in your pictures, I would say she is about 4-5 months old. It is very difficult to say exactly what breed she is, but I can see a little chow or spitz in her. she looks like she is going to be pretty fluffy. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! He is a mixed breed dog with predominant features of a Jack Russell terrier. To better predict his age, it would be helpful to examine his mouth specifically his dentition. However, he is probably about 3 months old. Good luck and have a great day!

It appears that she is a mixed breed and that's about all we can say. Her age can be guessed by examining her teeth so we would need a picture of her teeth. Good luck with Sweety

Hi, thanks for using Petcoach! Chowder is very cute! I think he is too young to tell and we would need more pictures. For fun if you want to run a home DNA test you can buy them online. I don't find them very accurate though. If you want to send more pictures or post a gain when he/s bigger it may help. While it is difficult to say definitively what Leo may be, he sure is cute. He may be a mix of dachshund & chihuahua, or might even have a little corgi in him. Have him examined by a veterinarian as soon as possible. He can tell you hold old Leo is, check his stool for parasites, & start him on age appropriate vaccinations. From the pictures, it does look like he may be a german shepherd or similar breed It is hard to estimate age from pictures, but he is clearly young (under a year). I would recommend if he was found, he be taken to a veterinary office for a check-up and to be scanned for a microchip.
