How to identify my young puppy's breed? What are my options?

I see Rat terrier in his face in the middle picture. We may never know. Hi and thank you for your question on PetCoach! From the pictures (cute by the way), I would say Eli may be a Bichon Frise or Bichon Frise mix. You can find out exactly what Eli is through genetic testing. It is a little expensive but is interesting and that way you can know for sure. Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! Jack is super cute! You can probably ask 10 vets and you'll get 10 different answers. He isn't a pure bred dog and there are likely many breeds that contributed to how Jack looks. He likely has Chow (though his tongue isn't pigmented) or Samoyed to get that type of tail. The rest is likely a retriever or shepherd mix. For fun you can do DNA test, they aren't very accurate but it might be entertaining at least. Drogo is super cute! So sorry but there is no way to tell what breed he is just by looking at the photos. If you asked 50 vets you would likely get at least 45 different answers/guesses. It's really impossible to tell from a picture alone. It looks like this must be a picture of Sharon as a puppy (since you list his weight as 58lbs, but the pictured dog is much closer to 10lbs). I would guess some combination of terrier, collie, and "other". I would recommend using a DNA test to get a better idea. Embark and Wisdom Panel are two options. As I guess I would bet some chihuahua, some sheltie and maybe Dachshund. Theres likely a few things in your new pup! Just so you know, there are now genetic bred tests that give can you a definite answer. Thank you for using Pet Coach!
