Thank you for submitting your question regarding Pablo. Yes, he appears to be a German Shepherd. As far as being healthy, that cannot be determined without an examination by a veterinarian. I recommend that he sees a veterinarian to have an overall assessment including baseline laboratory work. I hope this information helps!

These photographs appear to show a healthy puppy. The coat looks to be in good condition and the weight looks normal. As you already realize, looking at a photo is not a substitute for being able to examine the puppy. Looking at the photo, the puppy appears consistent with a purebred German Shepherd. The best way however to know if this puppy is 100% pure bred is to examine the pedigree. Dogs that are 1/8 mixed breed may not show obvious characteristics of the mixed lineage. For the average person however this is not a concern unless they are showing or breeding the puppy.

Looks can be deceiving but these photos do look like purebred dogs. It’s hard to say if they are working or show lines. I recommend to call the breeder as they are most familiar with their bloodlines. You can also contact the breed club as they likely have excellent resources. Hi there. It's always difficult to tell from looking at puppies, what they will look like as adults - so I can't say for certain whether they're purebred or not based on this. But, yes - these are within the range of typical colors for GSDs, and they look like they certainly could be purebred.

What papers confirm a German Shepherd puppy's purebred status?

They look like German Shepard puppies. If they are purebred they should have registration papers on both the father and mother. Once they register the litter they should give you papers so you can register your puppy. If they do not have papers then there is a good chance that they are not purebred German Shepard puppies. Is my 3-month-old GSD puppy purebred? When will his ears stand?

From the little I see, Teddy does look purebred. His ears may come up later, or not at all. Keep in mind, though, that there is such a thing as a prepotent stud, which means that the father passes just about all of his traits to his puppies. If that's the case here, the father may be a purebred German Shepherd Dog, and the mom a GSD mix or something else. It would help to have profile photos of Teddy standing.

My 7-week German Shepherd puppy is thin, ears down. Purebred?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Oscar. I recommend that he sees a veterinarian. His fluffy hair coat makes it difficult to assess his weight from a picture. He will be examined, dewormed and started on his vaccines and likely heartworm prevention as well. His weight and diet can be discussed as well. I would not expect his ears to stand up for several weeks yet. I hope this information helps!

Is my German Shepherd puppy's quality, bone, and coat looking good?

He does look well bred. I would compare his legs to the others in the litter to see if his bones are thicker than theirs, and again compare the coat length and thickness also. It’s awfully early to be able to tell how he will develop. I would visit him weekly to see how he grows.
