Why does my dog get so hyper and zoomy right after pooping outside?

It is definitely a mystery. Dog behavior is not totally understood, but it does seem that some dogs are more fastidiously cleaner than others. As long as everything else is normal, a little quirk here & there is what makes life so interesting! take care.

Thanks for using PetCoach! I lovingly refer to these episodes as “the zoomies”. Almost all dogs have them at some time or another. They happen more often in puppies and young adults but can happen at any age. Even though Chewy may seem like he is suddenly possessed, it’s a good outlet of energy and good exercise. So if it’s not hurting or bothering anyone, let him at it. In fact, excitedly running outside with him to let him tear it up outside is great too. Some dogs seem to feel extra happy and frisky right after pooping, so it's not surprising that Layla might seem especially hungry right after this - especially if she's usually a big fan of food in general :) This doesn't sound like anything to be concerned about, as long as she's acting normal otherwise.

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I recommend having Dorian checked by a vet. It should not be painful for him to have a bowel movement. He may have constipation, parasites, a foreign body or anal gland infection.

Sounds like Papi may have a case of the puppy zoomies. This is totally normal and usually happens when your dog is very excited or happy. Adding in some extra exercise or play time can help, as well as making sure there is a clear path to run around in!
