My dog has a yeast ear infection and a new hip growth. What is it?

However, I can tell you that it would be good to have Presley evaluated by your veterinarian so that these growths can be evaluated further. These could be benign or malignant growths. This is most of the time differentiated with a test called a fine needle aspirate which is easy, cheap and pain-free. Sometimes, a biopsy is required for a diagnosis. Have Presley evaluated by your veterinarian to have this test performed to try to sort out what the diagnosis is so that the best course of action can be determined. At that time, his ears can be evaluated to see if he also has an ear infection which may be causing the itchiness. Keeping my fingers crossed that it is something benign!

The yeast that cause ear infections are found on the skin and in the ears of normal dogs in small numbers but can proliferate and cause an infection under the right circumstances. An infection in the ear cannot spread, but it is possible for dogs to get fungal skin infections and both skin infections and ear infections can be related to allergies. If she develops more spots, if the spot seems itchy or painful, or if it is not gone in the next 3-5 days I'd recommend having it examined by a veterinarian.

This is a very small papilloma wart. It should go away on it's own once his immune system kicks in and generates a response against the wart. Typically, it takes 1-5 months for warts to go away with oral (mouth) growths tending to disappear sooner than those around the eyes. If it doesn't go away in that time frame, or if it gets larger or if he gets more of them, then he should see a vet.

Thank you for the picture and clarification. This looks like it could be an aural hematoma, which is when fluid gets trapped between the layers of the ear. This is usually a sign of an ear infection. I'd have this checked out by a vet.

Hello. Unfortunately, this type of growth can only be surgically removed by your veterinarian. Until you can plan to have the surgery, try to keep it clean by using warm soapyvwater and dabbing it dry. It would be best to have this looked at as soon as you can and discuss the necessary surgery with your veterinarian.
