Why does my senior Maltese have ear and hip growths? What's wrong?
Hi there! Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Unfortunately the pictures did not attach and I cannot see them. However, I can tell you that it would be good to have Presley evaluated by your veterinarian so that these growths can be evaluated further. These could be benign or malignant growths. This is most of the time differentiated with a test called a fine needle aspirate which is easy, cheap and pain-free. Sometimes, a biopsy is required for a diagnosis. Have Presley evaluated by your veterinarian to have this test performed to try to sort out what the diagnosis is so that the best course of action can be determined. At that time, his ears can be evaluated to see if he also has an ear infection which may be causing the itchiness. Keeping my fingers crossed that it is something benign!
