My dog won't pee or poop after moving to an apartment, what to do?

I would not be overly concerned about this just yet. Dogs can hold it for a pretty long period of time. It is not great for them to do so but it should not be harmful at this stage. Are you sure she hasn't gone somewhere in the house? If you are taking her out on a leash, she may not be used to going on a leash - this happens a lot. So you may have to have her off leash. Don't make too much of a big deal when you take her out. Only say whatever word you want to cue her to use the bathroom like "go potty". Do not say or do anything else. Once she goes give her a good treat of something she likes. If you don't have an off leash area then I suggest you do the same as above just on leash instead of off. Try to take her to a spot where other dogs have gone as this usually stimulates them to go. Urination is most important. If she goes 24 hours without urinating you need to get her to a vet. It may be days before she defecates and that is not as concerning. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

Dogs can be situational learners and just because they are housebroken in one situation does not mean they will be housebroken in all situations. I recommend to treat Hazel as if she was a puppy again until she learns that the new apartment is her home. That means take her out frequently and use a crate and leash in the house. At this point o would not be too worried about no bowel movement as long as she is eating, drinking and behaving normally. she may have a few accidents as she works on becoming acclimated to her new home but remain consistent and use positive reinforcement and she should adjust quickly.

Kimchi is in a brand new place, and you have no idea what kind of training, if any, she may have had in her previous life. I would recommend going "back to basics" with Kimchi and treating her like a new puppy with no previous knowledge of where to potty. Take her out frequently, and reward her with praise and a treat as soon as she pees or poops outside. Inside, you need to supervise her all the time - use a baby gate or other barrier to keep her in the same room with you, if needed. When you can't watch her, she should be confined to a crate or a single room with a hard floor. There is no one reason on why dogs will all of a sudden start pooping in the house. I would recommend going back to crate training Cali. I would keep Cali in the crate when you cannot keep 100% watch on her. When she comes out of the crate I would then walk her. If she goes then I would play with her and once you have to turn your back she goes back in the crate. If she does not go to the bathroom when you take her out of the crate I would put her back in for 20 minutes and try again. If you catch Cali going to the bathroom tell her no and take her and put her where you want her to go and praise her for going. If you just see the accident then clean it up and do not say anything to Cali. A crate should be big enough for her to stand up, sit down and turn around. The crate is a very safe option and dogs end up loving their crates, it's their safe house. I would try this route. I would also recommend getting a stool sample performed at your veterinarian's office. This will rule out intestinal parasites. It's possible she is getting mixed signals from daycare but it's impossible to say for sure. I recommend crating her when you are not directly watching her and at night. This may help to remind her about her housebreaking. You may also want to walk her more often and keep her feeding on a schedule.
