My dog has white spots on his nose and whiskers, what are they?

This looks like a localized area of infection. This could be caused by an allergy, by her rubbing her nose against something (like a fence or crate) or could be a sign of an underlying autoimmune disease like lupus or pemphigus. I would recommend taking Bambi in to the vet to be examined. Your vet may recommend antibiotics and a topical ointment to help the nose clear up. Your vet may also recommend doing a cytology or biopsy of the area which will help further determine what the cause of the lesions are. I hope this helps. Those two spots look like ingrown hairs or perhaps infected pores. Generally these lesions are benign and will go away on their own. You can try washing them daily and rinsing them well or your vet may carry some medicated wipes. Because they are on the muzzle topical ointments generally aren’t a good idea as the dogs will lick them off. Make sure to keep the food bowls cleaned on a weekly basis as well as any chew toys. It could be caused by a bacterial infection, ringworm, demodex, allergic dermatitis, autoimmune disease, etc. Since it is bleeding, it would be a good idea to have your vet take a look at the lesions to determine the cause. Once diagnosed, your vet can prescribe medications to help treat the problem. They may need an antibiotic, anti-histamine, corticosteroid, or other medications depending on the cause.

Hi there! This is normal and many German Shepherd's have this very same presentation. It should not cause any problems and has probably been there for the lifetime of your pet. No worries! Hope this helps.

I would have that checked out by a vet. This lesion is concerning for certain fungal and parasitic lesions that can get much worse if left too long. I also worry about skin cancer in white-faced dogs, so it will be good to have this ruled-out as a potential cause. No need to panic, just get it checked out in a day or two. For now, you can keep the wound clean by blotting it with a cloth soaked in warm water. Do this twice a day and avoid scrubbing.

Dogs can develop bumps on their nose from injury, trauma, bacterial & fungal infections, often from their habit of rooting in dirt, under leaves, bushes, etc. Gauge may need medication to help this heal, especially if it seems to be getting bigger. The round spots, although a picture of them would be essential to understand the underlying cause, could be generally speaking caused by an infection or eventually even a toxic.
