Is a spot with whiskers behind my dog's mouth normal or concerning?

I presume the area you are talking about is the area on the lower lip just behind the canine tooth where it is a splotchy pink color. That area is where the upper canine rubs when Shelby's mouth is closed, so the tissue in that area tends to get a little thicker for protection. Sometimes those changes can also result in some color changes. Since it is the same on both sides, I suspect it is normal. If either side looks different or seems to be irritated, I would certainly have your veterinarian examine her, but this picture looks normal. Trauma from playing is possible, but some bacterial or fungal infections can look similar. If the spots aren’t improving in a week or if they seems to be getting larger I’d recommend having Dublin examined by your vet.

Hello. Whiskers are thick, this is normal. Itching face and redness isn't normal. Itching face could be due to ear infection or mites, allergies, or if very sudden could be a bug bite or bee sting. Watch for facial swelling or hives and if present have him to a vet right away. If the itching persists then have his skin checked by a vet. Good luck!

This does not look concerning to me. I suspect it is just normal pigmentation in the skin (like freckle-- only obvious quite large!). If he is licking at it a lot, or if the associated skin seems warm or inflamed, have your vet take a look. Again, overall I don't think you need to worry. It is quite common to have patches of darkly pigmented areas of the tongue in some breeds of dogs. German Shepherds are one of the breeds in which we commonly see these spots, so as long as they are not raised/painful, they are likely just normal pigmented areas and nothing to worry about!

This cannot be completely assessed just by looking at pictures or reading a description and usually requires sampling such as fine needle aspiration to determine its origin. This is likely a pysiological alopecia, especially if it is in front of both ears and about the same size. If the are a expands, then there is a skin problem that needs to be investigated by your vet. However, if the skin looks healthy, and the area stays the same, then there is nothing to worry about. If Mila tries to scratch the area, then you should have her ears checked by the vet for an infection or mites.
