Is it safe for my dog to wear diapers all the time in a dorm?

You can use a diaper on your dog when you are unable to keep an eye on her. However, if you do this routinely it will be even more difficult to potty train her. Once the doapernis wet it needs to be removed soon so it will not cause urine scalding on the skin. Young puppies need to be walked every hour or so when starting potty training. If this is not feasible for you then I would recommend placing puppy pads around the house if you are unable to walk her outside and/or keeping her to a confined area. Crate training her will also help speed up potty training. Use positive reinforcement, like treats and lots of verbal praise, when she does go outside. It can take a couple of months to get your puppy fully potty trained. The keys to success are patience and persistence. I hope this helps. If you decide to use canine diapers, make sure you change them often (7-8 times a day). A wet or dirty diaper can cause skin irritations and urinary tract infections . If your dog wears diapers day and night, you should wash its genitals three or four times a day .

Great question! If you are leaving her the pads you are giving her the opportunity to relieve herself. If she chooses not to use it, that is up to her. It's not uncomfortable for her if she chooses not to relieve herself. I would continue to offer the pee pads and if she uses them, great! If she doesn't, I wouldn't worry. Kisses to Bailey!

Firstly, do not get a one month old puppy. Puppies should not be weaned until 8 weeks of age (2 months). Getting a puppy that has been weaned too early is a very bad idea. Honestly, for a first dog, you are better off getting an adult. Have you not considered adopting a dog from a shelter? It is cruel to make a dog only use pee pads because you don't want to scoop poop from the yard. Dogs are meant to go outside, smell the grass, mark their territory, etc. Those are natural behaviors that dogs need to do. A dog is not an accessory meant to do only what we want it to do. It is a living, breathing being that has needs that must be met. I don't mean to sound harsh but it does not sound like a dog is good for your lifestyle. Smelling dog urine and feces over a long period of time would not be good for your respiratory health. That is true.

There are a couple of things you can do to keep the diaper on Panda. You can invest in diaper suspenders, which keeps the diaper in place. Distract her with a whistle, a noise-making device, or clapping when she attempts chew on the diaper or remove it. She will learn to associate an unpleasant noise with removing the diaper, and will stop doing it. When dogs are bored, they can chew on things or attempt to destruct items. I would keep Panda busy and occupied with chew toys, puzzle toys that she has to solve to get a treat, or a Kong toy that has been filled with peanut butter and frozen. These things should keep her distracted from her diaper.

This is typical puppy behavior and will likely resolve once Eva is potty trained more as she gets older. Using Puppy pads and keeping her in a crate through the night may help with this behavior. All rooms with doors should be closed and she needs to be gated to be kept in your site. Or she needs to be leashed to an adult until this behavior has stopped. The area she is soiling needs to be cleaned with an enzymatic pet cleaner, like Nature's Miracle. She needs to be take out frequently and verbally praised, as well as given treats, when she goes outside. Play with her for 5-10 mins. If she doesn't go outside she is crated or leashed to an adult until you take her out again. This training should go on for 3 months and she can have free reign of the house once there are no accidents for those 3 months. You can have her urine checked for crystals or infection by your Vet and consider having her spayed to see if that helps. I wish you the best!
