What to do if my dog won't keep her period diaper on?

There are special doggie diapers that you can get for Panda from the pet store, and I would recommend using those. I would not let her outside alone, and when you do take her outside, keep her on a lead at all times, and away from places where male unneutered dogs might be (such as a dog park). This will keep her from having a pregnancy, which is important because it's never recommended to breed a dog on her first heat. She will not be mature enough, both physically and behaviorally.

They stay in place well but you will likely need to wash the diaper every other day (as its hard to keep blood off the sides). You can use a diaper on your dog when you are unable to keep an eye on her. However, if you do this routinely it will be even more difficult to potty train her. Once the doapernis wet it needs to be removed soon so it will not cause urine scalding on the skin. Young puppies need to be walked every hour or so when starting potty training. If this is not feasible for you then I would recommend placing puppy pads around the house if you are unable to walk her outside and/or keeping her to a confined area. Crate training her will also help speed up potty training. Use positive reinforcement, like treats and lots of verbal praise, when she does go outside. They key to stopping this kind of behavior is with training and positive reinforcement. If Panda spends a great deal of time whining for things she wants, you must learn not to give into her demands. Any time you respond to whining in a way that will make her happy, you are reinforcing her unwanted behavior. If you are outside and she is begging for you to play fetch, you can not throw the ball until she is sitting calmly and attentively. The moment that this happens, you should say praise her and play fetch. Continue with this in a repetitive way until she begins to see that being quiet and well-mannered is the key to her getting the ball. This type of positive reinforcement technique is the mainstay to training most dogs for any basic obedience. The use of a clicker is a great tool in starting this type of training. You can find countless videos on clicker training on Youtube that will show you just how to use this tool to your advantage. If you decide to use canine diapers, make sure you change them often (7-8 times a day). A wet or dirty diaper can cause skin irritations and urinary tract infections . If your dog wears diapers day and night, you should wash its genitals three or four times a day .

Snowball certainly sounds bored and like she has plenty of energy to burn! She is clearly trying to play by pulling her pad out and running off with it. I suggest getting rid of the pads entirely and making sure she is house-trained completely. The easiest thing to do is block Panda's access to your mother's room. Make sure the door to her bedroom is shut when your mother isn't home, and you can put up a baby gate to prevent her from going down to your mother's room. Your mother can also start putting her dirty laundry in a basket that locks so Panda can't get into it. I hope this helps!
