Could my small dog be hurt after getting water sprayed in his mouth?

We can't even be sure that this particular bug even contacted the chemical. To be safe you can always rinse his mouth out well with water and wash his face. Have a great day!

As long as he is behaving normally, there is likely no cause for concern. The propellant in the can can cause local irritation such as redness or may cause excessive drooling. You can monitor him for those signs for the next 24 hours to make sure he is in the clear.

If it was just one puff, he should be fine. If it was a rescue inhaler (albuterol) he may be a little jittery and or have a high heart rate for a short bit, but he should be fine. I would be concerned that she jumped because she fractured a tooth or injured herself on the can. She may have just been startled. A small amount of air freshener is likely to be bitter and may cause besides and vomiting. I recommend keeping a close eye on Marley. She should be seen by a vet if you think she is painful in the mouth (hypersalivating, guarding, etc) or is vomiting or lethargic. I hope this helps and that all is well with Marley!

For that reason, it would be best to have her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment if you are concerned. Otherwise, she may be ok. Signs of blindness tend to be obvious and mostly just stumbling and not knowing the way when called. Have a good night! I hope she is fine!

As long as he is asymptomatic, there is no cause for concern. Monitor for lethargy, restlessness, hyperactivity, panting, increased heart rate or tremors. Symptoms typically appear within an hour or two of ingestion or exposure. See your veterinarian or take Monty to the nearest veterinary ER if necessary.
