My dog bit a waterbug. Could he be sick from pest spray?

For that reason, Chigger may be just fine. I would recommend that you watch him closely and if he does show symptoms such as decreased appetite, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea and/or discomfort have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. It is possible that Snickers got bit and may have a small wound, especially if he is licking the area. I recommend trying to examine his foot and see if there are any visible wounds. If he continues to seem irritated by his foot, i.e. keeps licking it, for longer than a day, I would have him seen by your veterinarian. If he has a wound, it can be become infected and even abscessed (pocket of infected fluid), if left unmanaged. I hope this is helpful!

Most bugs will not harm a dog if eaten. In general, the more colorful a bug is, the more toxic it may be. Rinse his mouth thoroughly with cool water for at least 15 minutes. Monitor for lethargy, drooling, swelling or pawing at the mouth. See your veterinarian if any of these symptoms develop.

In general, most over the counter pesticides when dry, will not harm pets. The most common signs seen will be some transient vomiting, possible drooling, and possibly diarrhea when ingested in small amounts. Obviously there are many different kinds of pesticides available and the signs associated with them can vary greatly. The label on the original container for the pesticide should have a phone number to contact incase of concerns and more specific guidance may be found there. Ingestion of dead spiders is not likely to lead to any significant illness. As your dog is reportedly fine, it is unlikely you will see any problems at this time. Of course, if you notice your dog acting ill, please seek veterinary attention.

Even if the cockroach had come into contact with some type of insecticide, it's extremely unlikely that there would be enough present to cause any toxicity issues for Bubbles - so as long as he's acting normal, you shouldn't need to worry :)

That is definitely concerning. The first thing to do is call the manufacturer of the spray. They will know any potential for toxicity. Make sure he stays in the fresh air. Giving him an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for pets will help to decrease inflammation. If Cole begins to get worse, have him examined by the veterinarian. Best of luck.
