Dog vomiting & soft poop after Benadryl for bee sting. Normal?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 1 year and 8 months old | 28.6 lbs

My dog has been vomiting after she was prescribed Benadryl and a steroid for her bee sting. She is very happy and energetic. She vomited all of her food she ate today and the treats we gave her afterward to see if she would still take food. So my question is until we can get in contact with her vet should we give her the medicine? Another symptom she has been experiencing is soft serve poop and we were wondering is that from the medicine and is it normal?

I would stop all the medicine and let her stomach rest. Steriods can cause GI upset andnit can be worse if they don’t have food in their system. Vomiting and diarrhea can be a side effect of the medicine. I would only feed chicken and rice to let her tummy rest for the next 24 hours

I would be concerned that the bee sting and this vomiting is unrelated. I would have Luna checked by a veterinarian as soon as possible. They will likely recommend radiographs to rule out an intestinal blockage.
