Why is my dog vomiting frequently with food, but no other symptoms?

Vomiting could be caused by a number of things, including parasites, diet changes, toxin ingestion, infectious viral diseases, blockage in the intestines caused by ingestion of a foreign body, food sensitivity/allergy, decreased pancreatic function, or a mass/growth in the gastrointestinal tract. Please have your dog seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible to allow for diagnosis and treatment. If your dog could have eaten anything such as medications, household cleaners, plants, toys, food scraps, or garbage, please let the vet know about it to help them determine if there could be a toxicity. If Sam is a dog who gets into trash or has a sensitive stomach he may just have a case of gastritis from this, and a period of fasting and reintroduction with a bland diet may help. If his vomiting persists or he becomes lethargic/weak or develops diarrhea, he should be seen by his vet for examination.

It could be that Sami overdid it on the walk, and that caused the limping. If she is back to normal with that, I'd keep an eye on her for now. I'm concerning about the vomiting, which isn't normal. Have her seen by a vet for this.

Due to the fact that he is very lethargic I would recommend taking him in to see a vet as soon as possible- to an emergency clinic if one is in your area if you feel he is very lethargic and continues to vomit. Do not offer anymore food and water tonight as he will likely just vomit it back up. The vet will examine him and may recommend x-rays or bloodwork to help determine a cause for vomiting and will most likely give injectable medication to stop the vomiting and IV fluids to help rehydrate poor Same.

Poor Louis! There are many causes for continued vomiting. Certainly parasites like worms and giardia can cause frequent vomiting. Bacterial over growth is also common in younger dogs. Food allergies or intolerance are possible at his age. Lastly a more serious cause can include a partial intestinal obstruction. I recommend to have Louis visit his veterinarian for a physical exam and to rule out some of the more common causes. Treatment will depend on the cause and may include medications or a special diet.
