Why is my dog still vomiting bile and not eating after vet visit?

It sounds like poor Henneha is very sick, and you've done the right thing by having her seen by a vet. I'm wondering if she is fully vaccinated, and if she's not, it could be that she has parvovirus. That is very serious, and it would make a dog quite sick. You can try giving her Nutri-cal, available over the counter perhaps at your local pet store, and you can offer her small amounts of Pediasure using a syringe or small turkey baster. I would suspect that his lack of appetite is related to his recent episode of vomiting and blood in stool. There can be many different causes of this, so it's important to have him re-evaluated by a vet and treated again. He can go a couple of days without eating, but I would be more concerned if he was not drinking, had bloody stool, or vomit, or was acting very depressed/lethargic. If you are noticing these problems too, then it's best to have him seen by a vet within 24 hours. I see that you are in a rural area, but there may be a vet available in Wichita. If not, then there would definitely be vets available in Manhattan where the KSU vet school is. They have a great vet hospital there with many specialists on staff, so you may consider going there if you are not getting a good diagnosis, or resolution of his current problems. Unfortunately, I don't think there are any more ways to get him to eat at this time. It looks like you've offered some tasty food, so if he's not eating that, then he probably won't eat anything. Also, you can get more stomach/intestinal upset if you feed too rich of food at this time, so it's really best to have him seen by a vet before trying other food options. Hello. Sometimes, it just takes a few days for a stomach issue to clear, even with medications. Of course, I do not know what was administered to Woody, but if he continues to vomit despite the proper medications being administered, we do have to be concerned about some underlying metabolic problem or perhaps an ingested foreign object or substance being the cause of his ongoing discomfort. Make sure, if he is eating, you are feeding a very low fat, easily digestible diet. 25% cooked chicken & 75% low fat cottage cheese or plain white rice is appropriate. A couple of teaspoons several times a day may be well tolerated. If after another 24 hours, Woody continues to vomit, you will need to speak with your vet about re-evaluating the situation, doing some blood work & obtaining x-rays to make sure nothing was missed in the initial evaluation of Woody. Causes for vomiting and not eating are: viral or bacterial infections, liver or kidney problems, cancer, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion (ate something gross), ate something that is stuck, toxin ingestion, new food/treat/table food or the broth. Any new food could cause an upset stomach. i would with hold water for 6 hours and food for 12 hours. If Odie continues to vomit during the fast he should see a Vet. If there is no vomiting for the first 6 hours, offer small amounts of water. If he holds down the water then start a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice as small frequent meals at the 12 hour mark. Feed 1 cup per 20 lbs per day for 3-5 days. If he won't eat or continues to vomit he needs to see a Vet for an exam, blood work and belly X-rays. I hope this helps and i wish Odie the very best!

It sometimes takes longer than 12 hours for a sick animal to get better. You will still have to try and hand feed her and syringe water into her if possible. If she does not start drinking after 24 hours, then your veterinarian may have to put her on iv fluids. Once she is hydrated she will likely feel less nauseous and will start drinking again and hopefully eating. Keep her comfortable, and tend to her like you would tend to a sick child. Give it some time.

It sounds as Molu is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

I'm sorry Buddy has been ill! Vomiting and diarrhea can definitely take a lot out of them, so it's a good sign that he's eating. I would expect that he should gradually feel better over the next couple of days if he's eating and drinking consistently. If at that point he's still not acting right I would have your vet recheck him. They may want check lab work to ensure nothing else is going on. Good luck!
