My dog's testicles are turning white. Are his bowed legs normal?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! The saggy nature of Leo's scrotum and testicles is just cosmetic and there is not medical worry. It is likely hereditary in nature. If you plan to neuter him the Vet can also fix the scrotum (scrotal ablation). Other wise there is nothing to do about it now. He does seem quite well endowed. If the testicles suddenly seem more enlarged then I would have him seen as he could have an infection, suffered trauma or if painful a torsion. I wish you the best

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! The scrotal skin color isn’t influenced by the platelet number. Platelets are part of clotting. If Bruno’s platelets are low enough you could see bruising on the skin and scrotum. The scrotum can become more pigmented with time and just like the belly skin they can also become red when certain things contact the scrotum like grass. Have a good day.

But yes, in the picture they look basically symmetrical. If you have concerns about it, take him in to the vet for a physical exam to be sure.

It is prominent, but not necessarily abnormal as long as he’s otherwise acting normal. If he is favoring the leg at all, or there are any masses on the leg, or any swelling noted, take him to your vet. But if he is otherwise fine there is no cause for concern. That concerns me that he might be anemic. I would encourage you to have him evaluated by a veterinarian soon. Anemia can cause mucus membranes to look whitish and can cause weakness which can appear as being off balance. They will likely want to check his red blood cell count .
