My dog swallowed an orange seed. Is it an emergency vet visit?

I am not sure if by "orange piece" you mean a piece of the fruit orange or something else. If it was a piece of orange, then I would not worry. However if it was something solid and orange colored, it should come out with the stool within two days. If not, and if your dog gets diarrhea and starts to vomit, you need to take Coco to a vet for an exam as it could have caused an intestinal blockage.

I'm sorry to hear that Gizmo isn't feeling well. There are a few issues that could be going on here - the plant could be something that is toxic, Gizmo could have eaten enough of the seed to cause an obstruction or irritation in his intestinal tract, or the vomiting could be entirely unrelated to the seeds. If this only just started and Gizmo is his normal happy self, you can offer a small amount of boiled chicken and rice this evening, see if it settles down. The poisonous part of the pits are contained in the inner kernel so unless the pit is cracked open and the kernel missing, im not worried about that. That gnawing probably resulted in only tiny bits -if any- of the pit being swallowed. A dog this size is unlikely to have problems with that. Of course he may have a sensitive stomach or have gotten into something else in the trash that would cause a problem. If you see more than 3 episode of vomiting, severe lethargy, or loss of appetite lasting more than 8 hours, see an emergency vet to make sure he’s ok. Best of luck to you and Huxley!

Oh, dear! With peach pits, there are two main concerns: if it was chewed up quite a bit before swallowing, there is a chance of a toxicity issue since peach pits do contain small amounts of cyanide. If he swallowed it whole, it's very likely to cause an intestinal obstruction as it moves through his GI tract, which would require surgery. If he just ate it, I would recommend having him seen by a vet right away - he/she can give an injection to safely induce vomiting so that, hopefully, he will throw it up and you won't need to worry.

If she chewed it to bits, it should pass without any problems. If she swallowed it whole, there is a slim chance it could cause a gastric or intestinal obstruction. Monitor for lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, abdominal pain or straining to defecate. See your veterinarian if necessary. You can mix in some cooked brown rice or add a couple tablespoons of plain, canned pumpkin (NOT pie filling) to the meals to help cushion it and push it through.

That is bad news. If he just ate the pip you need to take him to a veterinarian right away. If indicated the vet may try to make your dog regurgitate the pip by giving your dog apomorphine (This will depend on the size of the pip) in order to avoid an intestinal blockage. Not being able to poop may have another cause, either constipation or an anal gland problem which is painful and keeps him from pooping. You need to take Jake to a vet now before the pip moves on into the intestines.

Almonds are not toxic to dogs and I wouldn’t think there is anything in this granola that would be dangerous. It could cause stomach upset but seeing an emergency vet now probably wouldn’t change much - I’d just monitor her for any vomiting or diarrhea and take her to a vet for symptomatic treatment if it occurs. I don’t think there is anything preventative to do.
