My dog ate almond granola and plastic. Does she need an emergency vet?

As long as the granola didn't contain chocolate, macadamia nuts or raisins I wouldn't be concerned about toxicity. This could cause some upset stomach however, and since granola can be high in fat you could see pancreatitis develop. I would guess that cardboard would be digested, but if there was any plastic then there could be concern for an obstruction as well. I would recommend monitoring Bear for any vomiting, decreased appetite or diarrhea and contacting your vet right away if you see any of these signs.

If this happened recently, ie within the past 2 hours or so, you should take him to a vet for inducing vomiting. If this has been longer then you need to watch your dog for a tummy ache, diarrhea, vomiting, lethargy, as he could get pancreatitis from the food he is not used to. Also the wrappers could cause trouble. Watch his feces, wrappers should show up as they pass through the intestinal canal. If he shows any signs of discomfort, please take him to a veterinarian or Pet ER.

If he ingested small amount of oil and it is definitively pure oil without anything else inside, this ingestion can cause mild to moderate gastrointestinal signs like vomiting and diarrhoea, but nothing else. To give you a specific answer I would need to know the amount ingested (roughly).

Wasabi can also upset their belly. I am concerned that if he suffers from a chronic history of pancreatitis, he may develop this from eating fatty items like almonds. I recommend that you monitor Quigley closely for any evidence of gastrointestinal upset such as vomiting, diarrhea and/or inappetence. if any of these signs are observed, have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Hi there. The graham crackers themselves should not cause any serious problems, although she may have some minor stomach upset if she isn't used to eating human food like this. The plastic is potentially more concerning - it may pass through just fine on its own, especially if she chewed it into pieces, but it's possible that it could become stuck in her intestinal tract and cause an obstruction. I would recommend monitoring her closely for the next 2-3 days for any signs of a problem. Symptoms of an intestinal obstruction would include repeated episodes of vomiting, not eating, acting lethargic, and not having regular bowel movements. If you see any of these symptoms, then I would definitely take her to the vet for an exam and x-rays. But as long as she is acting normal, you shouldn't need to worry :)

Hello. The amount of chocolate in those granola bars is not enough to be toxic. The most I would expect would possibly be loose stools and maybe some nausea from the peroxide. I think Bandits will be fine !!

It could be this granola has upset her stomach causing the bloating, and it can take up to 24 hours for signs of chocolate toxicity to show.
