My dog swallowed a whole chicken nugget. Should I be worried?

Instead, you should monitor Riku at home for the next 24-48hrs for symptoms of vomiting, lack of appetite, lethargy difficulties to defecate. If you see any of them, you should take him to your local vets for an appointment as these symptoms would suggest gastrointestinal obstruction. However, most likely the little bones will be digested rapidly in the stomach and Riku will not show any worrying symptoms at all.

Just be careful with smaller pieces that are swallowed whole as there is a chance of it getting stuck in the esophagus. You’d know if that happened because he’d be hard swallowing, drooling and regurgitating. I hope the helps and I wish Sirius the best!

I do not see any need to worry at this time. If it was stuck in his throat, then he would be continually gagging and coughing. There is also not much of a chance it would be causing problems in the stomach or intestines, because these are digestible. Signs of a blockage are: not eating, not pooping, vomiting, and acting very depressed/painful. If you happen to see these signs, then this would warrant an urgent trip to the vet. Otherwise, he seems to be doing OK, so I wouldn't be concerned. I hope that helps and all is well with Coby.

Hello. If Pie seems to be fine, then I would not worry. Most times the bone will be easily digested & pass on through. If he should develop any vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, hard bloated abdomen, or loss of appetite, please have him seen by your veterinarian. If your dog didn't swallow the chicken bone this is unlikely to cause him any problems. I would just monitor him for GI upset including vomiting, diarrhea, decreased appetite, or lethargy. If these develop seek veterinary care but they are unlikely.
